Privacy Policy

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to Codex Reset, an independent public tracker for Codex usage-limit reset signals. Codex Reset does not access your OpenAI account or private usage data, and no account is required to use the public tracker.

Information We Collect

We collect or process the following limited information:

1. Reset alert details — If you request email alerts, we store your email address, language, subscription status, subscription and unsubscribe timestamps, and notification history. Resend processes your email address when it sends the site owner a new-subscription notification and when an administrator sends a verified reset alert.
2. Community demand submissions — When you click “Request Reset,” we store accepted clicks in a daily aggregate for the reset cycle, including the UTC day, batch count, first/last submission timestamps, and an irreversible HMAC-SHA256 hash derived from the request IP. We use this pseudonymous value to estimate distinct submitters and repeat activity; we do not store raw IP addresses or individual batch history.
3. Usage and technical data — If analytics is enabled, our analytics provider may process page views, referral information, browser and device details, and network-derived information such as an IP address. Our hosting and security providers also receive ordinary request data needed to deliver and protect the site. We do not include your reset-alert email address in analytics events.
4. Browser preferences — The site may store language, theme, and similar display preferences in your browser using local storage or comparable technologies.
5. Messages you send — If you contact us through Telegram, that platform processes your message and account information under its own privacy terms.

How We Use Information

We use this information to:

• Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Codex Reset.
• Send the reset alerts you requested and process unsubscribe requests.
• Understand aggregate site use and which public channels help people find the tracker.
• Respond to questions, corrections, and security reports.
• Comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud or abuse.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not intentionally place email addresses or other directly identifying information in analytics events, advertising requests, or public URLs.

Cookies, Local Storage, and Advertising

Codex Reset does not currently display Google AdSense ads. If advertising is introduced, this policy will apply to that processing before ads are enabled:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's previous visits to Codex Reset or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. Google and other advertising vendors may place or read cookies, or use web beacons, IP addresses, device information, and other identifiers for ad delivery, frequency control, measurement, fraud prevention, and—where permitted—personalization.
• The active advertising vendors and their privacy choices will be identified through the site's consent interface or an accessible vendor list when advertising is enabled.
• You can learn how Google uses data on partner sites, manage or turn off personalized Google ads in Google's My Ad Center, and manage participating companies' advertising cookies through YourAdChoices.

Turning off personalized advertising does not necessarily stop all ads. Ads may still be selected using context or general information such as approximate location derived from an IP address, browser type, or page content.

Consent in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

Before serving advertising that requires consent to visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Codex Reset will use a Google-certified Consent Management Platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. The consent interface will identify relevant vendors and purposes, request legally required choices for cookies or other local storage and personal-data processing, retain consent signals where required, and provide a way to withdraw or revise a choice.

Advertising that requires consent will not be requested until the required consent mechanism is active. Codex Reset may use non-personalized or limited ads only when allowed by applicable law, the visitor's choice, and Google's policies.

Sharing and Service Providers

We share information only as needed with:

• Hosting, security, database, analytics, and email providers that operate the site on our behalf.
• Advertising vendors, including Google, only if advertising is enabled and subject to the disclosures and consent controls above.
• Authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or legal rights.

External evidence links, X, Telegram, Google, and other third-party sites have their own privacy practices. Opening those services may allow them to collect information independently from Codex Reset.

Retention and Security

Reset-alert records are retained while your subscription is active and as reasonably needed to honor unsubscribe requests, maintain delivery records, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations. Other providers retain operational data according to their own retention settings and legal duties.

We use HTTPS, access controls, and limited administrative access to protect stored information. No Internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.

Your Choices and Rights

Every reset alert includes an unsubscribe link. You may also use the contact channels below to request access, correction, or deletion of information associated with your alert subscription, subject to applicable law. Browser controls can remove local storage and cookies. If advertising is enabled, the consent interface and advertising-choice links above will provide additional controls.

Children

Codex Reset is a developer information tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the service, providers, advertising status, or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be presented on the site when appropriate.
